Miao paper-cutting is the base pattern of Miao embroidery, but from the perspective of its production process and the value of the finished product, it is a complete handicraft in itself. Miao paper-cutting is mostly improvisational work. Generally, paper-cutting artists use cutting, tying and picking techniques to create flowers, birds, insects, fish, dragons, phoenixes and unicorns on paper at will. The composition reflects the Miao people's worship of nature and totemism. The pictures are vivid, the lines are natural and smooth, and have a high artistic taste.
