The date chosen is generally an even day, that is, the second and fourth day of the first lunar month. The couple must come and go together for three consecutive years. In the first month of the lunar year, the head of the family will gather several new daughters-in-law for a dinner. On the ninth day of the first lunar month, the new daughter-in-law often gathers relatives and friends to the husband's house for a banquet, which is called "Yuan Jiu". After the banquet, the new daughter-in-law takes her husband back to her parents' home and starts the "Wang Jia Jie", which usually lasts from the tenth to the sixteenth day of the first lunar month.
