The Fuzhu Temple Fair is spread in Nixi, Longquan, Yaodu and other provinces in Dongzhi County, Anhui Province. The Fuzhu Temple Fair in Nixi is mainly spread in Yuanjiashan Natural Group, Yuanpan Village, Nixi Town and surrounding villages. According to the records of Jiande County Chronicles (Dongzhi County), the Fuzhu Temple Fair is to commemorate Chen Gaoren, who was an official in Jiande County (Dongzhi County) and was named "Fuzhu Yugong" by Emperor Wanli of the Ming Dynasty. Later, the people in the countryside called him Yugong. According to the records in the historical materials, during his tenure as an official in Zhide County (now Dongzhi County), Chen Gaoren (Yugong) led the people to control mountains and waters, build bridges and roads, set up schools, reduce taxes, punish bandits, and keep the local peace. Because he cared about the sufferings of the people, handled affairs impartially, was friendly and upright, he was deeply respected and loved by the people. Later, in order to commemorate this good official who was honest and upright and loved the country and the people, the villagers held the Fuzhu Temple Fair every Mid-Autumn Festival, the anniversary of Yu Gong's death, to express their nostalgia. The prevalence and inheritance of the Fuzhu Temple Fair is the result of the long-term efforts of many people with lofty ideals in the folk. However, in the long-term process of holding such temple fairs, most of them were passed on by word of mouth, and there were not many written records of the whole process.
