Lidu is a strategic town and cultural ancient town for water and land transportation in Jiangxi and Fujian, and is a famous hometown of "Chelu Lantern". The "Chelu Lantern" in Lidu originated in the late Yuan Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty, with a history of nearly a thousand years. At that time, it was used as a foil for the dragon lantern, following behind the dragon lantern and obeying the drum rhythm of the dragon lantern. It was not until the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty that it had its own unique gongs and drums. During the Qianlong period, the "Chelu Lantern" was basically separated from the dragon lantern, forming a complete "Chelu Lantern" lantern art, which was performed separately on festivals. In the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, a group of old artists represented by Zhou Donghe brought the "Chelu Lantern" to the stage, accompanied by music based on Fuzhou tea-picking opera, integrating Lidu folk tunes, and creating a set of "Chelu Lantern" music scores. Its performance form can be matched with dragon lanterns and taken to the streets1; it can also be performed on stage. First, write a script, arrange it, and perform it in a prescribed format. The uniqueness of Lidu's "Car Lantern" lies in the use of a wheelbarrow as a prop. The body of the wheelbarrow is carefully made and equipped with artificial legs. A woman stands in the middle, and a man pushes the wheelbarrow from behind, and the woman cooperates harmoniously. The award-winning plays of Lidu's "Car Lantern" include: "New Rhythm of Lidu", "Pushing a Cart to Watch Lanterns and Talking about Lidu", "The Great Changes of Lidu", "Millennium Ancient Town", etc. In 2006, CCTV filmed Jinxian County's "Millennium Ancient County" with Lidu's "Car Lantern" as the first content. In 2006, it went to Beijing to participate in the fourth national community art performance. Lidu's "Car Lantern" used to be the traditional culture of the "Millennium Ancient Town", and now it is the brand culture of the prosperity of Lidu.
