The wedding sedan is a folk custom item on the third batch of representative items of Wuxi's municipal intangible cultural heritage. In ancient times, wedding was an important part of the etiquette and folk customs of life. Wedding customs are divided into two parts: "the ceremony of becoming a wife" and "the ceremony of becoming a wife". "The reason for becoming a wife" is the most important and complicated ceremony in wedding customs, and "the wedding sedan" is the most lively and interesting form of the "ceremony of becoming a wife". From the Ming and Qing Dynasties to the Republic of China, the old wedding customs were still popular in Wuxi. In the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, there were 19 "bride sedan" sedan companies in Wuxi (including Jinkui County). In the late Republic of China, Wuxi became popular with new-style marriages, and the wedding customs changed. After liberation, the wedding customs changed even more, and the wedding sedan was no longer popular. After the reform and opening up, in 2004, we first used the wedding sedan to hold the "bride sedan" ceremony at "Dingchang Bridge" in Binhu District.
