Legend of Zhangba Buddha
The stone statue is also called the Xingguo Temple Stone Statue. It is located in the northwest corner of Zhaigao Village, Zhaihao Township, 10 kilometers southeast of Boxing County. Because of its height of 18 feet, it is commonly known as the 18-foot Buddha. The Buddha statue sits north and faces south. It is 6.75 meters high, with a base 1.5 meters high and a bottom area of 7.29 square meters. It is a single standing round-carved bluestone statue. The Buddha statue has a high fleshy bun, a square face, a smile, a full chin and big ears, and a solemn appearance. He wears a "both-robed and broad-belted" cassock with a monk's robe tied on his chest, and "giving fearlessness and wish mudra". He stands barefoot on a lotus seat. The Buddha statue is exquisitely carved, with vivid shapes, accurate human body proportions, and smooth clothing lines. It can be called an artistic treasure. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
