Single-pole sedan
During the Spring Festival every year, Yicheng District holds a series of lion and dragon lantern performances, which are popular among the people. Among them, the single-pole sedan chair is the most popular. The single-pole sedan chair is the first and patent of the people of Yicheng. It is unique in the national folk art category and belongs to a rare art variety. The single-pole sedan chair is made of a bamboo pole more than ten feet long, carried by two people, and one person sits on the bamboo pole, and performs various interesting performances in coordination with the gongs and drums. The actors sitting in the sedan chair wear official clothes and black gauze hats. The two people in front of the sedan chair each hold a flag, which reads "upright" and "clean sleeves". The single-pole sedan chair was invented to commemorate Zhang Yushu, the magistrate of Yi County during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. Zhang Yushu served in Yi County for ten years. The "Yi County Chronicles" records: "Zhang Yushu regards Yi as his home and loves the people as his teachers and friends." He is honest and selfless, and has done many good things for the people of Yi County. Therefore, "the people of Yi County miss the Marquis even more when he leaves. Until today, the reputation of "Zhang Qingtian" is still well-known, and many stories are circulated among the people. The single-pole sedan chair first appeared in the Qing Dynasty in 1776 BC. Zhang Yushu advocated that the local government "share happiness with the people". The literati, businessmen in Yi County and folk artists from Nanguan, Beiguan and Xulou Village spontaneously joined forces to collectively create the single-pole sedan chair for the upright officials, and accompanied the lion dragon lantern team to the county government to pay New Year's greetings. Since then, this activity has been passed down intermittently, especially in the more than 20 years of reform and opening up. Yicheng District has vigorously promoted excellent traditional culture, with Tanshan Street as the main battlefield of activities. While adhering to the advanced cultural direction, it has always regarded the single-pole sedan chair for the upright officials as a "house drama" and focused on preserving and inheriting it. In 1995, Shandong Satellite TV specially recorded a special folk art program "Yixian Community Fire" with the upright official sedan chair as the main part and the lion dragon lantern as the auxiliary part. After being broadcast by CCTV, it was promoted to the international television culture market. In 2006, Zaozhuang Municipal Bureau of Culture and Yicheng District Bureau of Culture and Sports declared "Yi County Honest Official Single-Pole Sedan" as a key protection project of "Shandong Province's First Batch of Intangible Cultural Heritage".
