The Fire Dragon Festival in Fenshuiling Town was listed in the Sichuan Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2008. The Fire Dragon Festival in Fenshuiling originated from the folk legend "Young man Zhang of Fenshui burned the evil dragon with fire". Legend has it that in ancient times, there was an evil dragon in Fenshuiling, which was covered with fire, the land was cracked, and the seedlings died. The young man Zhang of Fenshui fought with the evil dragon for three days and three nights and burned the evil dragon to death in the "Dragon Lantern Field" in Gongwan, the town. From then on, the weather was good and the crops were abundant. In order to pray for a good harvest and the safety of people and animals, on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month in the second year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1863), the gentry surnamed Ye in Gongwan took the lead and founded the Fire Dragon Festival, which was voluntarily participated in and jointly organized by the gentry and the people. Since then, the Fire Dragon Festival has been held on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month every year, and has been passed down from generation to generation. After three generations, it was transferred to the street village of Fenshuiling Township, and evolved from family inheritance to the current social inheritance. In 2013, the township was abolished and the town was established, and it was now hosted by the Fenshui Community of Fenshuiling Town. The "Fenshuiling Town Fire Dragon Festival" is a mass sports and cultural activity formed by local people in their long-term farming production and life to pray for a good harvest, with dragon dancing and burning fire dragons as the carrier. The "burning fire dragon" reaches its climax at night on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, and ends on the sixteenth day of the first lunar month when the dragon is "sent to the sky". The dragon treasure is about 40 cm in diameter and is embedded in a 50 cm diameter treasure frame decorated with colorful silk flowers. It can be rotated and decorated with lights; the dragon head is high and majestic, and the dragon eyes are large and bright; the dragon body is 22 meters long and divided into nine symmetrical sections.
