The raised Lizhou cattle are strong, tall, muscular, compact, thin and fine, and quick. Lizhou cattle have plump muscles, tender meat, bright red color, obvious marble pattern, delicious taste, cooked meat rate of 60.3%, strong reproductive ability and high survival rate. Since the founding of New China, Lizhou District animal husbandry researchers have improved and selected cattle for many years. Lizhou cattle have become an excellent local brand for both working and meat in Lizhou District. According to preliminary statistics, the number of cattle raised in the district has reached one million, and the annual output of beef exceeds 100,000 tons. At present, Lizhou yellow cattle and its products are selling well in the domestic market and have gradually become a characteristic industry for the development of rural economy in Lizhou District.
