The Huize copper craft is spread in Huize County, Qujing City, and has a history of more than 300 years. In 1914, Huize copper won the silver medal at the Panama International Exposition. After that, the products were exported to Japan, the United States, Australia and Southeast Asian countries, and enjoyed a certain reputation internationally. Material selection is the key to the copper processing technology. Huize copper has very high requirements for raw materials. Natural copper (100% copper content) produced in Huize and Dongchuan is selected as raw materials. The raw copper is smelted with millet charcoal and warm fire. When the pure copper raw material is burned red and slightly white, it is taken out and forged by hand, and then the initial finished product is hand-polished and polished, and finally fine-processed. The craftsmanship is exquisite, the shape is beautiful, and the colors are magnificent. The main varieties include incense burners, candlesticks, hot pots, tripods, boxes, bottles and various handicrafts. The representative work is the double dragon bottle with ears. Huize copper was once designated to make the trophy of the Second Traditional Ethnic Sports Games in Yunnan Province. The art of Huize copper-spotted is passed down from father to son, and there is no written record. It is passed down orally. Since the 1950s and 1960s, due to the limitation of raw materials, complicated processing procedures and high costs, the copper-spotted craft has been facing a situation where it is difficult to continue. Currently, only three families can still process it. Among them, Zhang Kekang's family has the longest history and the greatest reputation. It has been passed down to the 12th generation. In 1999, Zhang Kekang was named "Yunnan Ethnic Folk Artist" by the Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture.
