Beijing Yueshengzhai was founded in the 30th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1765) by Ma Qingrui. Because the store was located on the south side of the moon-shaped wall road west of the Qianmen Arrow Tower in Beijing and opened during the Hui Muslim month of Ramadan, it was named "Yueshengzhai", which means prosperity every month. Yueshengzhai was famous for its braised mutton and roasted mutton, and has a high status in the halal food industry in Beijing. Yueshengzhai's cooked meat was once famous as a palace food in history. There are many records of this in the historical books of the Qing Dynasty, and many celebrities have written inscriptions for it.
