Dong Nationality Fireworks and Fireworks Festival
The Fireworks Festival is a traditional festival of the Dong ethnic group. The main activity is that each village organizes a firework grab. Fireworks are small iron rings wrapped with red cloth (or red silk). They are placed on the top of the iron cannon, and then lit to set off a cannon. The small iron ring rushes into the air, and when the "fireworks" land, the designated personnel will fight hard to grab them. The winner is the one who grabs the firework and delivers it to the designated location. Grabbing the firework means good luck and happiness, and you can also get rewards such as pigs, sheep, red eggs, wine and mirrors. Fireworks are divided into first cannon, second cannon, and third cannon. In some places, there are also fourth and fifth cannons. Grabbing firework grabs is limited to men, and they often form teams with one family, one clan, or one village, and they can also form teams freely across villages. Grabbing firework grabs was originally a folk religious ritual to fulfill a vow and seek an heir. It has now developed into a mass cultural and sports activity and has been included in the national traditional sports competition items of ethnic minorities. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
