The Yi Torch Festival is called "Qiri" in Yi language. Every year on the 24th day of the sixth lunar month, Yi people in Haiping, Longchang, Pingzhai, Yingpan and other places gather together to sing and dance around the bonfire to celebrate the harvest and pray for good luck. People hold torches and dance the bold, ancient and mysterious "body dance, wine dance, and hemp-removing dance". Haiping has the largest number of people gathering every year.
