"Hongtang Comb" comes from Hongtang Village, Jianxin Town, Cangshan District, Fuzhou City. It is made of hemp bamboo and other raw materials through processes such as breaking bamboo, breaking combs, scraping green, making combs, and baking combs. Because it can comb hair and remove dirt without damaging hair, it is called "comb". Since the Ming Dynasty, the villagers of this village have been engaged in the manufacture of combs, and it is still one of the family sideline businesses of local residents. "Hongtang Comb" was first created in the sixth year of Jingtai in the Ming Dynasty (1455), and has a history of 551 years. Its founder was Guo Jiesan from Guocuoli in Hongtang in the Ming Dynasty. The combs he made were placed on a cliff of Lincuo Mountain at the foot of Miaofeng Mountain in Hongtang to dry, and "Hongtang Comb Mountain" was named after this. Before liberation, "Hongtang comb" gradually declined. In 1955, "Hongtang comb" received attention from the local people's government. In 1958, it resumed export and was sold all over the country. In 1961, materials and techniques such as red treasure sand, green treasure flash gold, and gold agate of Fuzhou lacquerware were applied to the comb beam, making it more exquisite and precious. The production process of "Hongtang comb" is relatively complicated, from material collection, weaving, diamond replacement, glue comb, comb washing, full trimming, carving to product inspection and packaging, it has to go through more than 30 processes. The raw material selection requires that the hemp bamboo grows for more than five years, which is solid and durable and not easy to be worm-coated; the comb teeth should be even and smooth, and the comb beam should be firm and not easy to move. With the bold innovation of comb makers, "Hongtang comb" has changed the past single variety situation and produced varieties such as "gold beam", "spray gold", "small flower", "small red", "big seal", "big flower", "Sanba", "ancient lacquer", "through flower" and "light lacquer". "Hongtang Comb" This traditional handicraft fully reflects the local characteristics of the Hongtang area and the exquisite comb-making technology. It is characterized by good material, fine workmanship, smooth surface, bright color, durability, and elegance. The teeth are pointed and round, will not crack, and comb hair smoothly. It can scratch hair and remove dirt without hurting the skin. It does not come off when put into water or soup, and is highly praised by consumers at home and abroad.
