Hulutan, She Village, Guilin Township, Shaowu City, Nanping, has a long tradition of practicing martial arts. Their martial arts have always been passed down from father to son, brother to brother, and from generation to generation. The She people with the surname Lan here are not many, and they are often bullied when they go out. Because they live in a remote area, they are often visited by bandits. In order to protect themselves, resist bandits, and avoid being bullied, all men have learned martial arts since childhood. Their martial arts are quite different from others. Most of them are closely related to daily life and production, and are very distinctive. They have boxing names such as "Red Fist", "Eight Household Heads", and "Old Man Watering Manure". For example, the action of "Old Man Watering Manure" is derived from their daily action of pouring manure, which is very similar to the actual action of pouring manure in the fields. Their weapons are not swords, swords, or halberds, but basically tools and daily necessities, such as sticks, shoulder poles, stools (stools), rakes (wooden rakes for plowing fields), triangular forks, etc. Why do they use these things as weapons? They said that they often deal with unexpected situations such as sudden attacks by bandits, and these things are readily available, so they use these things as practice tools when practicing martial arts. A few years ago, Southeast TV invited them to shoot a special film. In 2007, "Hulutan She Nationality Martial Arts" was included in the second batch of Nanping City's municipal intangible cultural heritage representative works.
