"Da Jiao" is a sacrificial ceremony. The "Da Jiao" in Hulutan natural village of Gaizhu She Village, Guilin Township, Shaowu City, Nanping, is an activity for the local Lan surname She people to worship their ancestors "Five Old Buddhas". Its purpose and content are basically the same as the local Han nationality's Nuo dance, "praying for peace, repaying kindness, and ensuring safety", and it is also to eliminate epidemics and disasters, pray for peace, and celebrate the harvest, but the form is completely different. It is a special folk activity held by the Lan surname among the She ethnic minority. It is usually held on the 15th day of the twelfth lunar month and the sixth day of the first lunar month. It must go through the procedures of cleaning the altar, morning court, noon court, building a court, holding candles, sprinkling water, burning incense, setting the direction, setting up boundaries, inviting the ten directions, ranking, inviting the gods, making family glutinous rice cakes, returning to the gods (sending off the gods), and ending the Taoist procedures. The noon court and building a court have "walking formations", which are a bit similar to Nuo dance, but they only "walk in formations" in the place where the Taoist temple is built, unlike Nuo dance walking from village to village. In 2007, "Hulutan She Nationality Festival" was included in the second batch of Nanping City's intangible cultural heritage representative works. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
