As the name suggests, Fucha is tea drunk during the dog days of summer, especially during the middle of the dog days. The weather is hot and it is easy to get heatstroke. In order to cool down and prevent heatstroke, people have the custom of drinking Fucha, which is to boil sweet and cool herbs such as Imperata root, reed stem, lotus root node, bamboo heart, etc., instead of tea, which is also called "Fucha". In the old days, kind-hearted people would put "Fucha" at the gate of the palace or on the side of the street for people to drink to quench the thirst of coolies, drivers and passers-by. This virtue is still preserved in various places, especially in Wenzhou. "Wenzhou Fucha" is said to have originated in the Southern Song Dynasty and flourished in the Qing Dynasty, but the exact age cannot be checked. As an excellent traditional custom, it has a long history, wide benefits and deep cultural connotations, which are rare in my country. According to incomplete statistics, there are four or five hundred Fucha spots in Wenzhou, from Shangtang Yantou in Yongjia in the north, Meitou in Ruian in the south, Yongqiang in the east, and Tengqiao in Zeya in the west. Among them, the one with the largest supply of Fucha is the "Hongri Pavilion" in Dongmen, which supplies 8,000 to 10,000 kilograms every day; the one with the longest service time is the Ruian Wansongshan Herbal Tea Shop, which supplies 13 hours a day, 365 days a year; the one with the longest history is the Fucha stall of Chen Haizhen, who has been making Fucha for three generations in Wutian, Ouhai; the one that receives the most donations is the recently established Longwan Zhuangyuan Pavilion Service Station, which has received more than 80 volunteers and 510,000 yuan in donations in just a few months. Wenzhou Fucha is the creation of the people of Wenzhou, a feat of charity, and the development of the connotation of traditional Chinese medicine culture. In order to promote and carry forward the Wenzhou Fucha culture, let more people understand the Fucha culture, advocate citizens to be kind and follow good deeds, inherit and carry forward the fine traditional culture of Wenzhou folk, it is the most powerful action to investigate and study the free Fucha in Wenzhou and organize the existing materials and establish a database, which has a more positive role and important significance in promoting the creation of a civilized city in Wenzhou.
