Yugu Daoqing is a kind of banqiang singing music. It has a common feature with other rap music, that is, the music and language are closely combined. Daoqing is a very ancient and rare form of folk art singing. Daoqing is sung by one person. The singer holds the Daoqing tablet with his left arm, beats the cloud board with his hand, and beats the Yugu with his right hand. The tablet may be accompanied by a zhuihu, erhu or sanxian. The pitch of the singing music is not fixed. The tune is determined by the artist's voice. Usually, the standard is to be able to sing the lowest note. The singing of Daoqing is divided into four major types: "flat board style", "yin and yang board style", "scattered board style" and "sighing rhyme board style".
