Shaolin boxing - , a traditional sports, recreation and acrobatics project in the fifth batch of representative projects of Lianyungang's municipal intangible cultural heritage. Shaolin boxing is famous at home and abroad for its unique style, vigorous and powerful movements, simplicity and unpretentiousness, and strong combativeness, and is deeply loved by martial arts enthusiasts at home and abroad. Shaolin boxing, such as Shaolin Luohan boxing, Xinyi Ba, Rouquan, and Shaolin 24-way spring kick, are regarded as the treasures of Shaolin Temple. Only a few monks in Shaolin Temple master them. Due to its long-term seclusion, it can still maintain a complete system and simple style. It has vigorous and powerful movements, strong explosive power, and a compact routine structure; it has a strong sense of attack and defense, and high practical value. Every move is either attack or defense. It has a clear distinction between movement and stillness, standing like a nail, moving like the wind, light as a feather, and heavy as Mount Tai. It has fast ups and downs and turns. It is highly flexible, as big as a tiger, and as small as a mouse. It is a combination of hardness and softness, soft as cotton and hard as iron. There is a saying that "leading qi with intention, promoting strength with qi, blowing teeth with qi, and making a sound like thunder". Shaolin boxing is a unity of inside and outside, with coordinated hands, eyes, body movements, steps, spirit, and strength. It emphasizes "three in sync" (hands, feet, and eyes), "three reflections" (nose tip, toe tip, and finger tip reflections), and "six combinations" (hands and feet, elbows and knees, shoulders and hips, heart and mind, mind and qi, and qi and strength). The movement route of Shaolin boxing is a straight line, which has the characteristic of "punching in one line" and is not limited by the size of the venue. There is a saying that "punching in the place where a cow lies down". Shaolin boxing has many routines and rich content. The widely circulated Shaolin boxing includes Dahong boxing, Xiaohong boxing, Chaoyang boxing, Tongbi boxing, Qixing boxing, Pao boxing, Liuhe boxing, etc. Its representative core routine Luohan boxing has been circulated for a long time. Fortunately, it was preserved by the famous Shaolin monk Shi Degen. Shaolin martial arts has a long history, is profound and extensive, and is the essence of the traditional culture of the Chinese nation. Shaolin boxing is the essence of Shaolin martial arts. With its distinctive characteristics of both internal and external cultivation, it has absorbed this essence and strengthened the body in the process of development. It has attracted the general public with its unique national style and the culmination of martial arts. Lianyungang Longteng Martial Arts Sports Training School, founded in 2001, is located on Gaogong Island in Lianyun District, which is surrounded by mountains and the sea. It is a modern boarding school that integrates civil and martial arts teaching. The school is dedicated to Shaolin boxing- In order to protect the inheritance of traditional martial arts, the Lianyungang Traditional Martial Arts Research Institute was established, which became the Jiangsu Branch of the China Shaolin Temple International Martial Arts Academy, the Shandong Campus of the Ningxia-Tianjin-Hebei University, and the training base of the China National Martial Arts Troupe.
