Zhuzhu Festival, also known as Nu Festival, is the most solemn traditional festival of the Bunu Yao people to worship their ancestors. It is held on the 29th day of the fifth lunar month every year. It is an important activity for the Bunu Yao people to worship their ancestor Miluotuo. On this day, the Yao people slaughter pigs and sheep, set up a feast, and men, women, old and young wear ethnic costumes. After the sacrificial ceremony, they bring glutinous rice dumplings, colored eggs and other foods, and rush to the open mountainside or mountain pass to have dinner, beat bronze drums, sing and dance, shoot crossbows, play hide-and-seek, fight birds, fight bulls, race horses, etc., especially young men and women sing songs day and night. Generally, the activities are over for one day and one night, and the most popular one is in Sannong Yao Township in Donglan.
