Nuoguozhu, also known as Xiaonian, is one of the most ethnically distinctive festivals of the Baiku Yao. The Baiku Yao people always thank their ancestors, pray for a good harvest, and bless peace in their own unique way. A grand folk performance will be held to showcase the mysterious culture of the Baiku Yao life. The whole village will celebrate the grand festival with tourists, enjoy a rich local long banquet, and listen to the sound of heaven and earth together. The Baiku Yao people will also hold a bonfire party, sing Xihua songs, and go to the night street to reproduce the thousand-year-old village, and thousands of people will talk about the long night of love. The Baiku Yao New Village of Wangshangtun is located in the southern part of Lihu Yao Ethnic Township, Nandan County. The Baiku Yao is named after the fact that the men of this branch wear white pants all year round. The current total population is about 10,000, and more than 90% live in Lihu Yao Ethnic Township and Bawei Yao Ethnic Township in the east of Nandan. They still retain the cultural information of the transition from matriarchal society to patriarchal society. Therefore, they are recognized by UNESCO as an ethnic group with the most complete folk culture and a living fossil of human civilization. They have also become a treasure of Guangxi's tourism industry. In June 2006, the Baiku Yao ethnic costumes were listed as a national intangible cultural heritage.
