In 1953, the youth of Tanghu Village, Zhengma Township, organized the first amateur acrobatic team in the county. In 1955, the team merged with the Duan Kunshan Family Acrobatic Class of Anhui Province to form the Xiongfei Acrobatic Troupe. In 1956, the county incorporated it into the Longchuan Acrobatic Troupe. At the same time, many villages in the county had amateur acrobatic teams, active in the fields. Longchuan acrobatics was praised as "a wonder in the southern art world" and Longchuan County was praised as the "hometown of acrobatics".
