Huizhou ink has a long history. It is a traditional national cultural artwork in my country and a symbol of my country's long ancient civilization. The ink mold carving technique has sublimated the cultural value of the ink itself. The use of ink molds as exterior decoration began in the Han and Tang dynasties and reached its peak in the Ming and Qing dynasties. With the changes of history, the ink making technology gradually concentrated in the ancient Huizhou area and was passed down from generation to generation. Huayang in ancient Huizhou was an important town for ink making (now Jixi County, Xuancheng City, Anhui Province), and half of the four major ink making masters in the Qing Dynasty (Hu Kaiwen and Wang Jinsheng) were in the Huayang area. The unique geographical and climatic environment and the rise of the flourishing literary style promoted the development of Huizhou's ink making industry, and ink mold carving has become an indispensable part of ink production. Ink mold (divided into molds and impression molds) carving is a unique art that concentrates on the re-creation of various calligraphy, painting and stone carving. The quality of ink molds and the amount of storage can also measure the category, quality and artistic value of ink products. Therefore, ink masters of all dynasties have attached great importance to ink molds, spared no effort, and selected styles, so that the art of ink molds has been continuously innovated with the development and progress of the social era.
