Sheet Opera Sheet Opera is also known as palm puppet. It is named after the puppet stage is built by using a piece of cloth shaped like a sheet to surround four bamboo poles at the four corners of the table. The actor holds the hollow puppet head with his index finger, and inserts his chin and middle fingers into the sleeves of the puppet to perform the puppet movements. The master of the art of sheet opera in Yuechi is Guo Zongxun, a native of Jinlongshan Village, Qiaojia Town. Guo Zongxun learned folk art from his father in his childhood, and later studied Sichuan opera and puppet art. He can accompany and perform Sichuan opera and folk art puppets. The most distinctive thing is that he can play a full set of Sichuan opera gongs and add huqin and suona accompaniment by himself. This art can be called a unique one in northeastern Sichuan. In 1987, he was invited by the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and the Provincial Art Museum to perform in Chengdu for foreign guests from West Germany, Japan and other countries and was highly praised. Guo Zongxun is particularly outstanding in that he performs a sheet opera by himself, that is, he plays the whole Sichuan opera gongs and drums and manipulates the puppet performance. The singer can sing with a different voice, completing the work of 5 to 8 people in other groups. Thanks to Guo Zongxun's exquisite art, Yuechi Bedsheet Opera has become the most distinctive local folk art.
