Xiqin Embroidery
Xiqin embroidery is a long-standing Han folk embroidery that has been circulated in the northern plateau area of Baoji, Shaanxi Province. It has a strong traditional style and distinct local characteristics. It not only embellishes and beautifies people's lives, but also closely integrates with the lives and customs of the local people, and penetrates into people's birthdays, marriages, longevity, sacrifices, religion and various fields of daily life. In June 2008, "Xiqin embroidery" was officially included in the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage representative projects by the Ministry of Culture. The Baoji area where Xiqin embroidery is spread is also called Xiqin. It is the birthplace of Zhou and Qin culture and has a long history of folk handicrafts. Xiqin embroidery is a basic skill for rural women and is widely used in rural areas. It is passed down from generation to generation with family, relatives and neighbors as the bond, and has been passed down from generation to generation to this day. Although there are many folk masters, they are unknown and there has never been an accurate record of the master-disciple relationship.
