The highest point of Nandagang Wetland is 5.4 meters above sea level, and the lowest point is 2.9 meters above sea level. It is divided into lagoon depressions, shallow trough depressions, hillocks and high flat lands, and 90% of the vegetation is reeds. The forests around the port are 10 meters wide and 30 kilometers long, totaling more than 60,000 trees. This is the intersection of the north-south migration belt and the east-west migration belt of migratory birds. According to observations and statistics, 168 species of birds have been found, including the red-crowned crane, white crane, white-headed crane, white stork, Chinese bustard, great bustard, etc., which are national first-class protected birds. A large number of white swans are seen here every year. In order to protect the reed vegetation, fish, birds and animals on the slopes of the reservoir, a 6-meter-wide and 4-meter-deep canal around the port was also dug along the port to ensure seasonal water storage and regulate the water capacity in the area. In the wetland nature reserve, the view is vast, and in the midsummer, it is full of green and the air is fresh, which makes people feel relaxed and happy.

Philosophy related to the heritage

Interpretation of Nandagang Wetland from the Perspective of Eastern Philosophy From the perspective of Eastern philosophy, Nandagang Wetland is a natural landscape that vividly embodies the concept of "harmony between man and nature". In Taoist philosophy, nature and man are interdependent and coexist harmoniously. The ecological diversity of Nandagang Wetland not only shows the richness and complexity of nature, but also reflects the possibility of harmonious coexistence between man and nature. Every scene in the wetland, whether it is a winding waterway or lush vegetation, reflects the self-organization and self-regulation ability of nature, which echoes the Taoist philosophy of "ruling by inaction". At the same time, the protection and restoration of wetlands also embodies the Confucian idea of "benevolence", that is, respect and care for nature, which is a manifestation of human moral responsibility. Interpretation of Nandagang Wetland from the Perspective of Western Philosophy From the perspective of Western philosophy, Nandagang Wetland can be seen as a practical case of ecological philosophy and environmental ethics. In Western philosophy, especially modern environmental philosophy, the interdependence between man and nature and the moral responsibility of mankind to the natural environment are emphasized. The protection of Nandagang Wetland reflects human respect and protection for the natural environment, which is consistent with the concept of "deep ecology" in Western philosophy, that is, the natural environment itself has intrinsic value, not just a resource used by humans. In addition, the ecological functions of wetlands, such as purifying water quality and regulating climate, also reflect the "functionalism" view in Western philosophy, that is, each component of the natural environment has its specific function and value, and humans should understand and respect these functions in order to achieve sustainable development. In summary, whether from the perspective of "harmony between man and nature" and "benevolence" in Eastern philosophy, or ecological philosophy and environmental ethics in Western philosophy, Nandagang Wetland provides an excellent perspective for observing and thinking about the relationship between man and nature, reminding us that we should treat the natural environment on which we depend with a more humble and respectful attitude.
