Jinggangshan is located in the middle section of Luoxiao Mountain Range at the junction of Hunan and Jiangxi. It is a typical Jiangnan mountainous area with dense bamboo forests. There are more than 100 kinds of bamboo, such as moso bamboo, light bamboo, square bamboo, bitter bamboo, black bamboo, arhat bamboo, Guanyin bamboo, goose feather bamboo, dragon scale bamboo, etc. The rich resources have created unique conditions for the inheritance and development of bamboo weaving skills. With the improvement of people's living standards, many bamboo weaving products are on the verge of extinction, such as bamboo boxes, bamboo cabinets, bamboo kitchens, bamboo baskets, bamboo thermos shells, etc. However, folk artists use high-quality bamboo strips to design and produce a variety of tourist handicrafts. For example, the elegant and humorous panda, the naive penguin, the peacock with wings spread, the owl with strange eyes, etc., have different shapes, unique composition, and are ingenious. There are more than 8,000 farmers in the city engaged in bamboo weaving production, and bamboo weaving products are exported to Japan, the United States, Canada, Singapore, Russia and other countries and regions, with an annual export volume of more than 1.5 million pieces.
