Tikal National Park
Deep in the jungle, surrounded by dense vegetation, lies one of the main sites of the Mayan civilization, inhabited from the 6th century BC to the 10th century AD. The ceremonial center contained ornate temples and palaces, as well as a public plaza accessible by a ramp. The remains of dwellings are scattered throughout the surrounding countryside.
Jiming Mountain Tourist Area
Jiming Mountain is located in the southeast of Xiahuayuan District, Zhangjiakou City, covering an area of 17.5 square kilometers, with an altitude of 1,140 meters. It borders Shijiaying Village, Huailai County to the north, the border between Xiahuayuan and Huailai County to the east and south, and the Yanghe Wet Valley Ecological Park in Shanghuayuan Village to the west. According to geological experts, Jiming Mountain was formed by a major earthquake about 1 billion years ago. Due to the strong crustal stress, the rock strata that had been silent for many years tilted, stood upright, reversed, and fractured, thus forming this isolated peak, which the ancients named "Feilai Peak". The temple in the mountain was built in the fifth year of Taihe in the Northern Wei Dynasty (481 AD). There were more than 100 temples originally, covering an area of more than 1,300 square meters. After being renovated in the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, the halls are magnificent and colorful. In 2006, Jiming Mountain Scenic Area was awarded the title of "National Ethnic Cultural Tourism Brand with the Most Development Potential"; in 2007, it was listed as one of the "Top 100 Buddhist Cultural Tourism Resorts in China". It is currently a national 4A-level scenic area and a scenic spot in Hebei Province.
Ellora Caves
Stretching over 2 km, these 34 monasteries and temples are lined up on a high basalt cliff near Aurangabad in Maharashtra. Ellora is a series of continuous monuments dating from 600 to 1000 AD, vividly showcasing ancient Indian civilization. The Ellora complex is not only a unique masterpiece of artistic creation and technology, but its temples dedicated to Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism also reflect the unique tolerance of ancient India.
Zizhuyuan Park
Zizhuyuan Park is located in the northwest suburbs of Beijing, near Baishiqiao in Haidian District, and west of Beijing Capital Gymnasium. Zizhuyuan Park was built in 1953. It was named "Buddha Shades Zizhuyuan" because there was a temple in the northwest of the park during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The park covers an area of 47.35 hectares, of which water surface accounts for about one-third. Nanchang River and Shuangzi Canal pass through the park, forming a basic pattern of three lakes, two islands, one embankment, one river and one canal. It is a natural landscape garden with hundreds of bamboos and thousands of green poles, and bamboo is used to create landscapes and win with bamboo. Zizhuyuan Park is free to visit. The landscape of this park imitates the mountains and rivers to seek its naturalness, with rugged rocks carefully placed, pavilions and corridors scattered, and bamboos and flowers cleverly arranged in between. Everything is picturesque, and the scenery is pleasant in all seasons. The spring breeze warms the flowers, the summer mist floats the boats with green canopies, the autumn rain moistens the reeds and maple leaves, and the winter clouds and snow reflect the pines and bamboos. On the Qinglian Island in the central part, there are the "Bayi Pavilion" and "Bamboo Rhythm Scenery Stone"; on the Mingyue Island, there are the "Wenyue Tower" and "Flute Sound Drunk Moon"; in the western part, there are the "Fuyin Zizhu Courtyard", "Cross-sea Eastward Expedition" and "Purple Bamboo Fishing"; in the southern part, there is the "Chengbi Mountain House" and a children's playground; in the northern part of Changhe is the "Yunshi Garden" with unique characteristics of Jiangnan gardens, which is elegant, beautiful, quiet and unique, with such scenes as "Cool and Anxiu", "Jiangnan Bamboo Rhythm", "Deep Bamboo and Quiet Lotus", "Youxian Mountain Pavilion", "Green Cloud Pavilion" and "Banzhulu".
