The Lin family of traditional Chinese medicine orthopedics is based in Panyu Township, Gaishan Town, Cangshan District, Fuzhou City. During the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, Lin Danian (1837-1913), the founder of Lin family traditional Chinese medicine orthopedics, learned Shaolin Kung Fu and orthopedic medicine from the elder monk Tiezhu of Hechao Temple on Gaogai Mountain in his hometown. After years of continuous learning and practice, he became a famous orthopedic doctor in Fuzhou at that time. Lin Danian passed on his orthopedic medicine to his descendants, among whom his grandson Lin Rugao was the most outstanding. Lin Rugao fully inherited and developed the Lin family's traditional Chinese medicine orthopedic medicine. For decades, he has cured countless patients with orthopedic injuries. In 1975, General Luo Ruiqing, who was injured in the leg, came to Fuzhou to ask Lin Rugao to treat his injury. After more than a year of careful treatment by Lin Rugao, General Luo's leg injury improved significantly, and he became famous in Beijing. After nearly 200 years of practice, inheritance and development, the Lin family of traditional Chinese medicine orthopedics has unique insights in the diagnosis, reduction, fixation, exercise and internal and external medication of bone injuries. Its academic thoughts and clinical experience are mainly reflected in: syndrome differentiation and treatment of fractures, focusing on manual reduction; tracing the root cause and being good at treating tendon injuries; expounding the etiology of arthritis and advocating syndrome differentiation and treatment; discussing the etiology and pathogenesis of fistula syndrome and advocating the treatment of paralysis by Yangming. In the long-term practice of bone injury medical treatment, the internal treatment of bone injury drugs has been summarized, which mainly include three types: syndrome differentiation and treatment according to the three stages of the course of the disease; treatment according to the part; treatment according to the meridians. Lin's orthopedics has a large number of secret prescriptions and Southern Shaolin exercises. At present, there are more than 30 series of drugs such as pills, pastes, pills, powders, tinctures, etc. that are widely used in clinical practice and have significant effects. They have unique efficacy and high value for scientific research and development. Lin's traditional Chinese medicine orthopedics family has two ways of inheritance: family inheritance and master-apprentice inheritance. In the past, the orthopedic skills of the Lin family were "passed down to family members but not to outsiders, passed down to daughters-in-law but not to daughters". Since the 1960s, Lin Rugao broke the family rules and taught orthopedic skills to outsiders by taking apprentices. The students he trained have made many achievements in orthopedic skills and research. As some descendants and successors of the Lin family of traditional Chinese medicine orthopedics have gradually gone to countries and regions such as Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines and the United States, the Lin family's orthopedic skills have continued to develop in various places and have been recognized and praised by local people and overseas Chinese.
