Bamboo horse drama originated in the Tang Dynasty, and is also called horse art, horse lantern, and bamboo horse lantern. Nanjing bamboo horse drama flourished in the Qing Dynasty and developed from the folk song and dance bamboo horse lantern dance. The bamboo horse is made of bamboo as a prop, and the bamboo horse is hung at the waist of the actor, who looks like riding a horse. The performance movements are mostly concentrated on the upper body and face. The repertoire is divided into two categories: traditional and foreign. The singing style is the southern Fujian dialect Gezai tune, and the dialogue uses jingles. The female and clown roles each have a unique performance program, and the lineup of the performance ranges from 8 to 16 people.
