Fenglin Lanterns is a traditional folk song and dance form with distinctive local characteristics in Yangxin. It is mainly spread in Fenglin, Mugang, Fuchi and other places, and has a history of more than 100 years. The traditional Fenglin Lanterns is different from the simple revolving lanterns and flower drum lanterns. Its performance team consists of 13 people. There are lanterns, bamboo horses and floats. It can perform more complex and complete traditional, musical and dance routines. Fenglin Lanterns are usually performed in villages and towns at the end of the year to send blessings of peace, joy and good harvest to the people everywhere. Its performance form is that one person holds a hanging lantern and leads the way during the performance, one person plays the clown and pushes the float behind, one person in the car plays the role of a young woman, and the next person plays the role of a young man riding a bamboo horse. Together with the main lantern that acts as the axis, in the middle of the enclosure of the four lanterns standing at the four corners, a series of dance formations, song and dance performances of the three procedures of "starting the lantern", "congratulating the family" and "killing the lantern" are performed with the percussion accompaniment of the four-person gong and drum team. The steps include "stringing five lanterns", "walking pockmarked knots", "double pockmarked knots" and so on. In the form of "one leading and many following", the beautiful local folk tunes are sung, such as "Prayer Tune", "Outside the Yarn Curtain", "Thank You for Tea Tune" and so on. The percussion accompaniment has multiple tunes changing according to the scene. The dance formation changes harmoniously with the singing and percussion, which is brisk and warm.
