Yifeng Lighting
Yifeng lantern dance is actually a kind of lion dance, which is interspersed with martial arts routine performances. It is said that its origin is related to the battle between Yue Fei and the Jin soldiers in Ruizhou (now Gao'an) during the Song Dynasty. At that time, Yue Fei displayed the military flag in Ruizhou Prefecture (a grand military parade) and performed martial arts on the martial arts field, which greatly boosted the morale of the people and many young and middle-aged people rushed to join the army. Later, in order to celebrate Yue's army, the people of Yifeng, who also belonged to Ruizhou, added Yifeng's local martial arts routines to it. Therefore, the lions in Huaqiao Township were called "yellow lions" with yellow cloth; the lions in Tanshan, Huanggang and other towns were called red lions with red cloth; the lions in Qiaoxi and Shishi were called black lions with black cloth; the black lions were quite famous in the cloth lion dance in the county. There is a saying among the people that "black lions are invincible in the world." At the beginning of the lantern show, the "dragon" lantern comes out with the sound of gongs and drums, and the lion salutes first, then performs. The procedure is: building a memorial archway, circling the field, rolling over, washing hair, climbing one mountain, climbing two mountains, climbing three mountains, building a memorial archway on three mountains, standing on water, jumping over tables, lying down, giving birth to children, teaching children, circling the field, etc. The martial arts master then performs Zimen boxing and weapon routines such as shoulder poles and sticks. The performance time is generally from the seventh to the fifteenth day of the first lunar month every year. During this period, people go from village to village, send New Year greetings, and collect "red envelopes". At present, most people who can play lanterns are old and weak, and the survivors are unwilling to learn, and it is facing the loss of the art. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
