Temple fair (Temple Fair), a folk custom project in the fifth batch of national intangible cultural heritage representative project list. In the early 1950s, the Temple Fair was suspended for a time, and gradually resumed in the late 1980s. By the year 1990, it had reached a considerable scale, and 42 folk art teams in Yangcheng Lake Town had participated in the temple fair activities. Today, the Temple Fair is mostly concentrated on the day of the 1990s. From the afternoon to the early morning of the 1990s, local villages first worship the land god in their respective village temples, and then the villagers of each village and dozens of teams carry the local land god statues to "meet the class", and then set off from all directions, tour around Yangcheng Lake Town and gather at the Temple Fair. On the way, all the shops of all sizes burn incense and candles and set off firecrackers, with as many as 10,000 spectators. The birthday celebration ceremony held in the Temple Fair is called "going to court". During this period, the gods of all walks of life performed the "kowtow" ceremony to the Emperor of Dongyue in turn, "reporting" the matters implemented in the past year to bless the people's health, and after being affirmed, they were rewarded with three cups of birthday wine. After the ceremony, folk cultural performances such as dragon lanterns, flower baskets, and lotus boxes were all on stage to celebrate the birthday of Emperor Dongyue. The temple fair lasted until the evening. On that day, vendors gathered around the temple and it was very lively. The Shengtang Temple Fair is a folk belief activity that has continued to this day in the Yangcheng Lake area. It is one of the important carriers of folk rituals and folk literature and art. For a long time, it has become an important part of the traditional folk culture in the Yangcheng Lake area. The temple fair has a certain social impact and humanistic value, and has positive significance for the inheritance of the roots of national culture.
