Cao Shoulian'er's Story Cao Shoulian'er is a witty character known to all, young and old, in Rudong. His story of helping the poor working people "fight lawsuits" has been passed down from generation to generation. "The Story of Cao Shoulian'er" is a collection of folk tales collected and compiled by Zhao Zhiyi, a member of the Chinese Folk Literature and Art Association. The book contains nearly 100 folk stories about Cao Shoulian'er fighting lawsuits, totaling 200,000 words. The story features "fighting lawsuits", full of local folk customs and local language characteristics, with catchy writing and humorous plots. In the 1980s, the book was published by the China Folk Literature Publishing House and distributed at home and abroad, and was deeply loved by readers. The seminar on Chinese witty character stories held by the Institute of Literature of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences gave a high evaluation to the book, which was pointed out as a treasure among Chinese witty character stories and was included in the entry of the Chinese Folk Literature Dictionary.
