Jinling Wang's Bone Setting Technique is a traditional medicine project in the fourth batch of representative projects of municipal intangible cultural heritage. Jinling Wang's Bone Setting Technique is a treatment method for clinical trauma, blood stasis and bone setting developed by Wang Daoan, an old Chinese medicine practitioner, using ancestral secret recipes combined with his own medical experience. It uses a variety of Chinese medicines to make bone-setting paste in a unique way, which is then applied to the fracture to promote the rapid growth and healing of the injured bone and relieve the swelling and pain of the surrounding tissues. The bone-setting paste is based on the dialectical treatment of traditional Chinese medicine and has the effects of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, reducing swelling and relieving pain, setting bones and tendons, replenishing qi and producing blood, and strengthening tendons and bones. All fractures are caused by external force, so the early stage of the injury is inevitably accompanied by local tendon damage, blood is separated from the tendons, and stasis does not dissipate, resulting in stagnation of qi and blood, obstruction of meridians, so pain, swelling, and functional disorders are seen. The treatment should focus on promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, reducing swelling and relieving pain. Frankincense, myrrh, and white medicine in Xugu Gao are mainly used to promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, reduce swelling and relieve pain. As the swelling subsides, the pathological characteristics of qi and blood stasis gradually alleviate. Therefore, the treatment should focus on bone setting and tendon repair, supplemented by promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis. Dipsacus, Drynaria, and natural copper in Xugu Gao are used to repair bones and tendons, and strengthen bones. The pathological manifestations of the late stage of fractures are mainly liver and kidney deficiency, insufficient qi and blood, and weak tendons and bones. Therefore, the treatment should focus on tonifying the liver and kidney, replenishing qi and generating blood, and strengthening tendons and bones. Wang Daoan, an old Chinese medicine doctor, made the above-mentioned Chinese medicine into an ointment through a unique processing method and applied it to the fracture site, which reduced the patient's pain and promoted the growth of the fracture. It has a significant therapeutic effect, so it has been passed down for more than 60 years.
