Ivory carving (Nanjing antique ivory carving), the current carving material is mammoth ivory. Antique ivory carving is one of the three famous crafts in Nanjing and one of the four famous ivory carvings in the country. Ivory products are mainly carved with ancient costume characters, classical objects and Tang horses, with a simple and lively style and full of classical charm. Compared with similar products in the country, Nanjing antique ivory carving is characterized by antique imitation, creating a unique antique ivory carving of the Jin Dynasty, which greatly enriched the types of ivory carving art in my country. The skills integrate the styles of the north and the south. There are both round sculptures that reflect the characteristics of the northern school, and openwork and deep relief dragon boat products that show the characteristics of the southern school. In addition, Nanjing antique ivory carving has also absorbed the leather carving techniques of Jinling bamboo carving. Since 1978, Nanjing's antique ivory carvings have participated in many important exhibitions at home and abroad, with outstanding artistic achievements and a great influence at home and abroad.
