The Confucius worship activities of Deqing Academy are held in Decheng Town, Deqing County, Guangdong Province. Deqing Academy was first built in the fourth year of Dazhong Xiangfu in the Northern Song Dynasty (1011 AD). The activities of worshipping "the model teacher of all ages" and "the great sage Confucius" began in the Song Dynasty and continued through the dynasties, reaching its peak in the Qing Dynasty. For thousands of years, Deqing Academy has "respected teachers and valued morality", which has nourished the ages and bred the prosperity of Confucius worship activities, becoming a representative activity of Lingnan Confucianism. The Confucius worship activities of Deqing Academy are divided into spring and autumn. The traditional worship is on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month in spring; in autumn, it is held on the first day of the eighth lunar month. It mainly consists of six parts: welcoming the gods, the first offering, the second offering, the final offering, removing the food, and sending off the gods. The basic characteristics are: the sacrificial ceremony is included in the official ceremony; the sacrificial ceremony integrates "singing, dancing and music" in one, including songs (poems), music (mainly eight-tone harmony), and "Six Yi" dance (a dance team composed of 6 groups of 6 people), among which the "Six Yi" dance is the most important part; sacrificial music has a strict procedure. It embodies several main values: the traditional cultural characteristics of the Southern School of Confucianism (Lingnan Confucianism); the living "textbook" of traditional cultural and artistic education; the moral education significance of "respecting teachers and valuing education". At present, although the Confucius sacrifice activities in Deqing Academy have been restored as a whole, there are many problems in the ceremony norms. The talent gap and aging of personnel are relatively serious.
