The Jinhua dragon lantern in Xinjin County was first passed down in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and has been passed down from generation to generation for more than 100 years. In 2001, our county restored the traditional cultural project of "dragon lantern" in the construction of rural characteristic teams. In 2004, the single "Jinhua dragon lantern dance" was organized into the "Guolong dance team", and experts were invited to make a new arrangement and creation of the project. The "Guolong team" after the creation has 56 members, including 9 large and small dragons. The longest dragon is 20 meters long, with 13 sections of the dragon body, performed by 14 people; the middle dragon is 10 meters long, with 7 sections of the dragon body, performed by 8 people; and there are also small dragons performed by 2 or 1 people. These dragons are all designed and made by the clever old people of the dragon lantern team. During the performance, the actors wore colorful costumes and danced to the cheerful music. Jinhua Town is located at the southwest end of the Chengdu Plain, the southeast of the county, and the middle section of the shallow hills of Muma Mountain, 9 kilometers away from Xinjin County. It borders Shuangliu to the east, Pengshan to the south, Dengshuang Town to the west, and Huaqiao and Puxing Town to the north. The dragon lanterns in Wuxing Village, Jinhua Town, began to be spread in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. They have been passed down from generation to generation. They are the earliest folk "dragon-playing" team on the plains of western Sichuan. The team members are all local villagers. The Jinhua Women's Dragon Lantern Team has participated in major provincial, municipal and county performances for many times and has won numerous awards: in 2003, it won the third prize in the Second Chengdu Square Art Competition and the first prize in the Second Chengdu Senior Art Festival.
