Duangong Opera, commonly known as "Tan Opera", is a local opera of the Han nationality in Shaanxi Province, where a wizard team dresses up as a female and a pretty girl, sings a divine song, and dances happily. Because its costume is simple and can be carried in a bundle, it is also called a bundle. Duangong Opera was originally a song and dance form of ancient Bashu wizards (Duangong), and later developed into a folk song and dance drama. It is a local small drama, usually performed by a man and a woman, and often expresses the love content of men and women, so it is also called "Dui Dui Opera", which is suitable for rehearsing small dramas. Its singing is simple and soft, the performance form is lively and free, the lyrics are humorous, and the artistic style is unique. It has a strong local characteristic of Hanzhong in southern Shaanxi. It is an intangible cultural heritage protection project in Shaanxi Province. Duangong Opera is mainly active in Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province, and its origin is closely related to the local customs and folkways of southern Shaanxi. The Han River Basin is connected to Bashu in the south and Chu in the east. The customs are similar, the culture is integrated, and the style of witches and sorcerers is quite popular. The "Book of Han", "Book of Song" and "Geographical Records" all have records that "the people of Hanzhong are not very interested in profit and like to worship ghosts and gods. They are particularly jealous and resentful, and worship Taoism, and still have the style of Zhang Lu." The "outing medicine market" is actually controlled by wizards and Taoists. They gather during the day to sell medicine, sing love songs and chant stories, and attract passing customers; at night, they are invited to perform rituals, sing and dance, entertain gods and ward off disasters. They are collectively called "Ma Jiao" in the local area, that is, the deacon messenger in front of the horse head of the god, who is responsible for the sacred dispatch and exorcism of demons and ghosts. Male wizards are usually called "Duan Gong" and female shamans are usually called "Shen Po". "Duan Gong" is a position of Tang officials. The wizards are called "Duan Gong" and "Ma Jiao", which shows their sacred status in the minds of people in southern Shaanxi. Whenever the masses encounter illnesses and disasters, they rarely ask doctors for treatment, but usually invite wizards to tell the gods. "When the ignorant people are sick, they don't consult doctors at first, but witches. People say that the witches are called "gongs" in ancient times." It is this kind of witch style that laid a deep artistic foundation and a broad mass base for the emergence of Duangong Opera. Duangong Opera is actually the product of the confluence of the "divine songs" of witch dance and the big tube opera. Its development has gone through four stages: "tan opera", "divine songs", tube opera and professional classes. The origin of the witch "tan opera" is said to be the "Sangtian Great Witch" in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period; it is also said that it was founded by Zhang Wulang, the "ancestor of Maoshan" in the Han Dynasty. It is said that Duangong Opera has more than 200 scripts, and 120 repertoires are preserved. It is an intangible cultural heritage protection project in Shaanxi Province. Its characteristics are: there are many small plays, many comedies, and many plays that show the lives of the lower classes. The plots are simple and the contradictions are single. The Duangong Opera in the upper reaches of the Han River has been influenced by local folk songs and 桄桄 to form a school called Hanzhong School. It is centered in Hanzhong and is divided by the Hanshui River. The southern route of the Hanshui River is more influenced by the Bashan dialect and Erhuang Opera, and the singing style is relatively soft, delicate, spicy and humorous. The northern route of the Hanshui River is more influenced by the Qinling Mountain dialect and the gugu, and the singing style is relatively rough, tragic and passionate.
