Bamboo horse racing is also called bamboo horse community fire. The people of Wujiawan Village, Guanchi Town (formerly Shicao Township) "run bamboo horses" on the 15th day of the first lunar month year after year, one to celebrate the harvest of the old year, and the other to pray for prosperity in the new year. According to the octogenarians, the history of bamboo horse racing in Wujiawan is about 100 years. I remember that the bamboo horse racing in 1925 was the largest. At that time, there was an old man named "Lao Zhuangzi" in the village who liked to be lively all his life. Every time he ran bamboo horses, he was always the community fire leader. Later, the skills were passed down from generation to generation, and now there are three generations of successors. "Bamboo horse racing" starts with "burning community fire". After the seventh day of the first lunar month, people who like to be lively began to plan and implement "burning community fire". On a dark and windless night, these people hold rice straw and light the rice straw at the door of the "community fire leader" to burn the gate. The community fire leader was afraid of burning the gate, so he had to agree to the community fire. After obtaining the consent of the village leader, they raised funds from each household, and the village took a little more money to plan all the lively matters. "Bamboo horse" is a bamboo frame that uses bamboo strips to tie the horse's head, neck, chest and buttocks. Then, a spiral iron ring that can be inserted with a small candle is installed in the chest and buttocks of the horse frame (can be inserted with candles, later changed to hand batteries and small light bulbs), and then red, yellow, black and white paper are used to paste them into the shape of horses according to the different colors of horses. "Bamboo horse" is made. "Bamboo horse running" mostly selects some (30-50) boys and girls aged seven or eight, and no more than ten years old as riders. Then the connected horse front body is hooked on the child's front waist, the horse buttocks are hooked on the child's back waist, and the child is dressed in a skirt (to cover the child's legs). From the outside, it looks like a person riding a horse. The horse's head is tied with a rein. When running, the child pulls the reins with both hands, and the horse's head moves up and down, just like a living person riding a living horse. In addition, each horse is equipped with a burly man as the horse mark (the person who leads the horse), who is dressed up as a warrior (with a yellow scarf on his head, a forehead flower, a red vest, leg bands wrapped around his calves, a whip or mace in one hand, and several small paper fans of different colors tied to the whip or mace. He shakes the horse up and down from time to time while walking, and keeps shaking the horse bell with the other hand, which is very moving and pleasant to the ear. He whistles while walking, and each horse follows its own horse mark. The community fire, which is mainly based on bamboo horse racing, is usually held between 8 and 11 o'clock in the evening. It can also be played during the day, but it is not as good as at night. In the bamboo horse community fire, the front of the team is composed of two people on a pole. The pole is a bamboo pole about ten meters long, usually wrapped up and down with blue cloth, with a small red flag or a feather duster tied to the top, and 23 colored square buckets tied to the upper middle part of the pole, similar to the flagpole in front of the ancient temple. There are 23 pairs of horse bells tied in the middle, and a stone mill (wheel) used to grind wheat seedlings is tied to the base of the pole. A rope is tied to the bottom of the pole. Two clown-like figures are in front and behind, the former pulls the rope and the latter carries the pole. They stop after walking a certain distance (about 50-100 meters). The former can make all kinds of ugly gestures and the latter shakes the bamboo pole to make the horse bells move. Following closely are two handsome guys carrying iron cannons, who fire iron cannons at major intersections. Then there are two men who look like matchmakers dressed as women riding male donkeys, carrying bamboo baskets filled with broken wheat straw, and constantly shouting: "Go to the girl's house to see the girl------". When they see someone blocking the road, they hit the donkey and let it bray, and scatter a handful of wheat straw (to clear the roadblocks). The girl can run around without restrictions. Next is a fleet of large and small boats, with a large boat in the middle and two small boats in front and behind. The boatmen are all men dressed as women. The "flower daughter-in-law" is dressed up. There is an old man in makeup on each side of the big boat, rowing with a wooden paddle. There is also an old man rowing each small boat. Sometimes, according to the specific situation, there are some supporting roles, such as "Mr. Zhang carrying Mrs. Zhang", "The Conch and the Fisherman", "Sun Wukong stealing the fan", "Carrying the bench", etc. Next is the "flower drum" team, and in the middle is the "bamboo horse" team. The bamboo horses play different classical plays in each show, but they are all made up for the supporting plays. Behind the bamboo horses is another gong and drum team, and finally the "flower car". In the past, the flower car was dressed up as a big horse carriage, which looked like a big ship. When the car (boat) stopped, there were people in front and behind the car pushing up and down in a rhythmic manner, which looked like a big ship sailing on the sea. The front of the car was pulled by four mules, and on each side of the two mules was a strong young man dressed in martial arts, with a red scarf on his head and a red flower on his forehead, and his upper body was naked. Sometimes he jumped on the back of the mule. , very heroic, with large gongs and drums on the vehicles, and the entire community fire brigade is flanked by "torch" brigades, with 1,020 torches on each side, each torch is lit by a young man with an iron fork and a lit old "willow crown" (a kind of watering utensil used by Luonan people in the past, woven with willow branches a long time ago, and later woven with bamboo branches. The "willow crown" is coated with a thick layer of willow crown oil inside and outside and ignited, with strong durability and high brightness). From a distance, the entire community fire looks like two fire dragons walking in a bend, and each bamboo horse is illuminated by a small candle in front and behind, which looks like a small firefly shining from a distance, with a unique style. The lantern bamboo horse in Wujiawan Village is suitable for activities at night. The bamboo horse made of paper has good light transmittance, forming an illusory world where lights and people, people and lights are cleverly combined. It is hard to tell whether it is heaven or earth, with shining stars, like a paradise on earth.
