"Bullfighting" is commonly known as cattle fighting. The "bullfighting" of the Miao people in Kaiyang Pingzhai is held on the fifth, fifteenth and twenty-fifth day of the first lunar month every year. On the day of the bullfighting, children of all ethnic groups in Kaiyang, Guiding, Longli and Fuquan counties wear gold and silver and go to watch the fight in their best clothes. Hundreds of cattle owners lead the most powerful bulls to stand around the arena. After the cattle owners of the two opposing teams lead the fighting bulls around the arena for a week, the bullfighting is announced by the host. In an instant, the crowd cheered, suonas were noisy, and drums and music sounded. In the fierce battle, some were in a tie, some fell to the ground, and some fled in panic. After the bullfighting, people gave the winner red and colorful clothes and toasted to his owner to congratulate him. Many Miao villages have a grand bullfighting festival, which is the biggest festive festival of the Miao people. The bullfighting venue is usually set up on a flat grassland surrounded by dense forests. At that time, people from various Miao villages wear festive costumes, sing Shanxi, and flock to the venue with bulls. When the bullfight begins, people put the bulls participating in the competition into the bullfighting rink. Suddenly, dozens of bulls challenge each other furiously, looking for opponents, fighting each other, and the loser runs away, and the winner chases closely until the loser escapes from the battlefield and escapes into the crowd. The winner returns to the arena to look for opponents again. The losers of the first round all fled, and the winners fought again, and the losers fled again. In the third round, the winners fought again, until only one pair was left. This is the most exciting duel in bullfighting. At this time, the two bulls are equally strong, and each round is more fierce and fiercer than the last. Some have been fighting for hours without a winner. This is not only a duel of strength, but also a duel of fighting skills. They look for each other's weak points and fatal points, and rush bravely. The two pairs of horns collide with each other, deafening. Sometimes they fight head to head for dozens of minutes, and their muscles are almost bursting; sometimes they fight until sunset, until one of the bulls is defeated and flees. The winner stands with his head held high in the field. The host puts a big red flower on it, and its owner leads it around the field. The audience feeds it red-dyed eggs and festive meals, and throws countless flowers on it. At night, people lit bonfires in the bullring, young men played reed pipes, girls danced, and old people told ancient legends. People celebrated all night long.
