Putian Copper Sculpture Technique () Putian's traditional copper casting technology originated in ancient times, flourished in the Song Dynasty, and prospered in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. For a long time, it has been passed down from generation to generation. In the Shang and Zhou Dynasties, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, large copper castings were widely used in the traditional casting of Buddha statues, gods and Bodhisattva statues in various temples and nunneries. Copper metal products are also widely used in the architectural decorations of officials and wealthy merchants. Small copper metal products have also become popular works of art and practical items, and even entertainment items for playing, which are extremely rich in traditional expression. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the Republic of China, the production of copper metal castings has been scattered in various villages in Putian, especially in Dongzhuang, Xiuyu. Putian's copper carving skills include traditional copper metal casting, traditional copper knocking, traditional copper gilding, traditional copper button gold and other skills. Among them, traditional copper metal casting uses copper, brass, bronze (alloys of different components such as copper-zinc, copper-lead, copper-tin, etc.) as raw materials, melts the copper raw materials in different furnaces, pours the copper melt on various "molds" or "patterns", and makes the copper melt flow evenly in all small corners through artificial vibration, and then performs trimming, polishing, painting, etc. to cast copper Buddha statues, god statues and other types of artworks, crafts and playthings of various specifications. Traditional copper knocking uses copper sheets as the basic raw material, and adopts the method of heating and manual hammering to make various copper musical instruments, artworks and practical finished products. Traditional copper gilding is to dissolve real gold in 1, and use a special brush to cast giant, large and miniature Buddha statues, god statues and other types of artworks, crafts and playthings on copper metal. After drying or drying with charcoal fire, it is polished with agate. Traditional copper buckle gilding is to press real gold on the surface of copper products to make the works golden and beautiful. Putian's traditional metal bronze carving craft has its own school, which has spread to Putian, Fuqing, Hui'an and other places as well as Southeast Asian countries. It represents the superb level of folk traditional metal casting and traditional gold-buttoning technology.
