It is also the hometown of Gong Liu, the founder of China's farming culture, and the birthplace of the Zhou Dynasty. Dongzhiyuan, commonly known as the "granary of eastern Gansu", was the source of "Gong Liu's restoration of Hou Ji's business" and the creation of farming culture. The long history of farming and the hand-knitting skills generated around farming activities have injected rich cultural content into agricultural production. In the long farming culture life, this folk handicraft has supported the daily life of generations. Various skills have continuously injected cultural and artistic content into agricultural civilization and made indelible contributions to the development and continuation of the Chinese nation. However, since the 1980s, modern industrial production has continuously replaced the production of handicrafts, rural production tools have been replaced by mechanization, and daily necessities have been continuously replaced by high-tech products. The hand-knitting skills circulated among the people have tended to die out, and the skills of many craftsmen and artists have not been passed on, and there is a serious phenomenon of people dying and art dying. This folk handicraft, as a representative intangible cultural heritage of our region, urgently needs to be protected. Xifeng folk hand-woven knotting skills are an important part of Chinese farming culture. They are of special value to the study of Qingyang's farming history and culture and are a typical representative work of intangible cultural heritage.
