Folk suona playing

Gansu
🎧  Listen to Introduction

Suona playing has been popular in the north-central part of Kang County for more than 300 years. Almost every village in this area has folk artists who play suona, and some villages even have hundreds of suona artists. Every year during festivals, temple fairs, or weddings and funerals, the masses will organize grand suona performances to celebrate or worship. The 100-person suona team of Douping Township (now Zhoujiaba Town) has represented Kang County in provincial and municipal folk art performances many times and has been widely welcomed by the people. It is now a provincial intangible cultural heritage. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.) (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
