She Day. The second day of the second lunar month is She Day. According to Tujia legend, She Day is the birthday of the God of Land. The God of Land is the god who manages the land and gives birth to the five grains. Worshiping the God of Land is actually a relic of the ancient worship of the land. On this day, every household makes mugwort cakes, kills chickens, prepares wine, and worships the God of Land. Since the God of Land is the god who manages the land and gives birth to the five grains, people pay much attention to observing the weather on this day to predict the harvest of buckwheat. The proverb says: "If the God of Land sweats in the sun, one liter of buckwheat will yield one stone; if the God of Land holds an umbrella, one liter of wheat will yield one bowl; if the Bodhisattva of Land holds an umbrella, the buckwheat will be bare." Therefore, the Tongzhi "Chronicles and Customs of Laifeng County" says: "On the second day of the second month, both urban and rural areas offer sacrifices to the God of Land and pray for a good harvest." On the day of the community day, a "thank the grave" sacrificial activity is held at the new grave. A wizard is invited to the mountain to beat drums and gongs, set off firecrackers, burn incense and paper money, and pour cinnabar and tea leaves into the grave in front of the new grave that has been buried for less than three years. The activity is to offer sacrifices to the community land dragon god, to express gratitude to the land dragon god for taking in the deceased and resting in peace, and blessing the descendants with prosperity. Therefore, it is also called "thank the land". (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.) (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
