Wuzhou Kiln Ceramic Firing Technique (Wuzhou Kiln Quzhou White Porcelain Firing Technique), the fifth batch of national intangible cultural heritage representative projects. The production technique of Yingbai porcelain can be traced back to the ancient Quzhou stamped pottery. In the Tang Dynasty, opalescent glaze porcelain (Shangye Kiln in Gouxi, Qu County, Fangtan Kiln in Longyou County) had begun to be fired. This opalescent glaze porcelain has a moist and thick glaze, which increases the beauty of the porcelain. In the Song Dynasty, Quzhou's porcelain industry developed maturely, the product sintering process was good, the body was hard, the knocking sound was crisp, and the body was grayish white. The decorative patterns were extremely rich. From the Yuan Dynasty to the Republic of China, Quzhou's porcelain industry formed a certain production capacity and scale on the terraces on both sides of Qujiang River, Jiangshan Port, Changshan Port, and Wuxi River. However, most of the production was organized by villages and kiln households to meet the local market. The key points of Yingbai porcelain processing are: using the rich rare earth raw materials of local Waihuang and Dachuan, with specially mined porcelain clay, after the raw materials are crushed, pulped, and pressed, they are put into the mud refiner for "vacuum mud refining" to form semi-finished raw materials. The "mud cake" is then transported to the semi-finished product organization workshop, where it is carefully carved by hand to make a finished blank. It is then sent to the kiln for refining and firing to obtain a finished white porcelain product. The entire processing technology is particular about the formula, meticulous carving, and strict kiln temperature. Various types of stationery, wine sets, tea sets, coffee sets, Buddha statues, table lamps, vase artworks, etc. are produced. It is as thin as brocade, as clean as jade, as smooth as fat, and as bright as Ying. It is famous for its delicate porcelain, soft glaze, translucent and bright, like ivory and mutton-fat white jade, and is known as a treasure among porcelains. In the Quzhou Hall of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress Hall in Hangzhou, an 85-centimeter-high white porcelain "Ruyi Ear Peony Pattern Bottle" is displayed. It is a treasure in the collection of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress Hall. Endangered status Due to the unique production process of Quzhou white porcelain, the formula and process are strictly confidential, and almost no written records have been found. The folk practice is generally passed down from father to son. Finally, due to the rise and fall of dynasties and the outbreak of wars, Quzhou white porcelain was lost. Protection measures Quzhou Huoshen Ceramics Co., Ltd. invested 1.57 million yuan to establish the Quzhou White Porcelain Firing Technology Exhibition Hall, creating a platform to inherit traditional craftsmanship, display process, etc., attracting more people to understand Quzhou Yingbai Porcelain, and playing a positive role in the development of Yingbai Porcelain. In May 2021, it was selected into the "Fifth Batch of National Intangible Cultural Heritage Representative Project List".
