Huagu Dance is deeply loved by the general public for its exaggerated life movements, wonderful martial arts movements and vivid animal imitations. According to the old man, the Houzhuang Huagu Dance in Lizhuang Township, Liangyuan District originated in the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. At that time, Zhou Fengqian of the village was poor in his childhood. In order to make a living, he went to Yang's Huagu Dance Troupe in Yangshuangmiao Village, Cao County, Shandong Province to learn Huagu Dance. Later, he set up his own business and established a Huagu Dance Troupe. It has a history of more than 200 years. The performance of flower drum dance usually begins with two actors turning somersaults. Under the direction of two feather hands, they perform along the street or in the enclosure, accompanied by gongs and drums such as big drums, sieve gongs, big gongs, small gongs, and big cymbals. The feather hands direct the colorful dolls to perform criss-cross formation changes and technical movements such as round the field, small jumps, splits, handstand walking, flips, rolls, pounces, and falls through dance movements such as turning, swinging, sending, and leading. They successively direct the completion of more than 20 dance programs such as doll mountain, top flower, scorpion climbing the wall, colorful women digging sieves, playing flower drums, lotus blooming, lion rolling embroidered balls, fairies crossing the bridge, old men sending daughters, unicorns sending children, and old men pushing carts. The flower drum dance program is popular among the masses. The actors look funny, their movements are exaggerated, and their facial expressions are rich and varied during the performance. It is quite ornamental and very popular with the audience. After the 1980s, the flower drum troupe rose again with the care and support of the government, and it has been inherited and innovated. In 1999, the Qingfeng Flower Drum Dance Troupe won the first place in the first folk music and dance competition in Shangqiu City, and later participated in many major events in our city.
