Casting technology belongs to the category of folk handicrafts. Swordsmith Li Haifeng grew up in the sound of iron forging since he was a child. He is obsessed with furnaces and forging. He likes to pursue the pleasure of peeling impurities from the red-hot iron block layer by layer in front of the furnace. - The son inherited his father's business. Under the careful guidance of his father, Mr. Li Chengyu, on the basis of learning traditional ironmaking technology, he was not satisfied with the status quo of being an ordinary blacksmith. In addition, he was eager to learn and study hard. He set his sights on sword casting and was determined to be a swordsmith and created a large number of works. In terms of expression, steel and iron are mixed forged, iron-clad steel is repeatedly folded and beaten, and the handwork is delicate and exquisite. A good sword must be tempered a thousand times. If the smelting time is too long, it is easy to melt in the furnace. If the time is too short, it is difficult to fuse and the sword is easy to break. Li Haifeng insists on combining practice with theory. From the selection of materials to the control of the temperature, he has tasted the bitterness of broken swords many times and finally ushered in the sweetness of success. The three-foot green-bladed pine-patterned sword he made has as many as 1,023 layers of thin sword body. These more than one thousand layers of fine steel and stubborn iron, which were originally not connected, have been folded in half again and again, smelted again and again, and forged hammer by hammer, naturally forming patterns on the sword surface that look like pine patterns, which are radiant and beautiful. Li Haifeng's representative works include: Pine Pattern Sword Series, Jiangshan (one side is mountain, the other side is water), Dragon and Phoenix Sword, Youlong Sword, Xiangyun Sword, etc. The development from traditional craftsmanship to modern casting is a historical necessity. The development of any thing has its inheritance, excavation, inheritance and variability. His casting has absorbed the essence of traditional blacksmithing, but also is not bound by the old model. He constantly explores and innovates, and finally created a unique sword-making process, reproducing and reviving the long-lost ancient pine-patterned sword.
