Poyang Guanyiqian Yan Gong Temple Fair (the fourth batch of provincial level) Poyang Guanyiqian Yan Gong Temple was established during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1398), and has a history of more than 630 years. The temple fair activities started during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty and have continued to this day. It enshrines the Jiangxi water god "Shenxiao Yufu Yan Gong Dudu Marshal". It is to bless the weather and prosperity of agriculture and fisheries. The main form of the temple fair is the Taoist rituals to invite the "water god" to pray for blessings and peace, and the fishing gear trading as the main content of the fishing custom activities. The third day of the tenth lunar month is Yan Gong's birthday every year. The activity time starts from September 30 (the twenty-ninth day of the ninth lunar month in the short month) to October 6, a total of seven days. On September 30 (the twenty-ninth day of the ninth lunar month in the short month), the boat is facing the boat (the whole village is divided into five places to set up mast-shaped symbols, with white cranes, lanterns and straw hats tied on them), the altar is laid, and fasting is performed. On the first day of October: pray for water from the Yangtze River. Wear Taoist robes and perform drums and music at the Yuebomen Wharf in Raohe to pray for water. On the second day of October: send a letter (send an invitation to various gods and Bodhisattvas), and hold a ceremony. On the third day of October: welcome the saint at the fifth watch, and start to worship the birthday from the early morning. Good men and women from the whole village, the county town, and the surrounding counties and towns flock to worship. On this day, the Taoist priest reads out the birth date of the whole village in the form of a bed announcement to bless. On the fourth day of October: eat the food, drill through the pass (children under 15 years old in the village drill through a special pass to avoid disasters and difficulties). On the fifth day of October: do peace and run Taishi (the master arranges a small dragon and performs a code of peace and tranquility from house to house). On the sixth day of October: send off the gods and Bodhisattvas who have been invited; then send off the blessing, which is to carry the Bodhisattvas for a parade. During the parade, the dragon boats, phoenix boats, emperor boats, emperor pavilions, parasols and palm fans, paper figures and horses, Vajra carriage, seasonal fish and sedan chairs with various allusions (commonly known as "step by step") that have been made in advance will accompany the parade, and the activity will end with a ceremony.
