Ninghe Opera in Xiushui (Second Batch of Provincial Level) Ninghe Opera, formerly known as "Ningzhou Opera", originated in Xiushui County. It is an ancient local opera. It is widely popular in Xiushui, Wuning, Tonggu and other counties in northwest Jiangxi and adjacent areas, and is deeply welcomed by the masses. The first opera troupe in Xiushui, Sanyuanban, was established in the first year of Longqing (1567), more than 400 years ago. During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, there were "Chunlin" (Shangyuan Yu Taigong's case), "Fengwu" (Quanfeng Dai Taigong's case), "Tongqing" (Daqiao Ma Ye's case), "Hongyun" (Zaokou Xiao Ye's case) and other troupes that performed mobile operas. The repertoires performed include "The Story of Mulian", "The Story of Zhengdong", "Journey to the West", etc. The singing tunes are Xiushui Gaoqiang, which is a mixture of Nuo and Yi, that is, one person sings and many people sing, and the rhythm is drums, also known as "Daluoqiang". During the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, Anhui Huiban developed westward, and Yihuang Opera went north one after another. These two types of vocal styles were introduced to Xiushui, and local artists in the Antang class absorbed the Shipai tune and the nine-tone and ten-tone tunes from the Huiban, integrating Gaoqiang, Kunqu, Chuiqiang, Huidiao and folk songs into one, gradually forming the Ninghe Opera, a multi-vocal opera with local characteristics. In the middle of the Qing Dynasty, the introduction of Chuqiang and Xipidiao further enriched the vocal styles and repertoires of Ninghe Opera, and led to the gradual disappearance of Gaoqiang, the decline of Chuiqiang and Huidiao, and the change to a vocal style dominated by Pihuang. In 1927, the Autumn Harvest Uprising broke out on the border between Hunan and Jiangxi. Ninghe opera artists participated in Soviet makeup lecture groups at all levels and were active in the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Soviet area. Ninghe Opera was revived and became a revolutionary weapon. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War in 1945, a Xiushui County Youth Drama Society was established by merging the Xibai and Wanfang Street amateur drama troupes in the county, which was the predecessor of the Ninghe Drama Troupe. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Party and the government paid more attention to and supported Ninghe Opera, and established the local state-owned Ninghe Opera Troupe. At the same time, they also began to explore, organize and innovate traditional repertoires, music and performing arts. Amateur troupes also sprang up like mushrooms after rain, all over the rural areas of the county. Ninghe Opera has many repertoires. There are more than 400 repertoires that can be checked, all of which have strong ideological content. After liberation, more than 260 traditional repertoires were excavated and recorded, more than 240 good and relatively good ones were identified, and more than 110 were performed. A number of excellent traditional repertoires such as "Qin Qiong's Merit", "Lin Chong's Night Escape" and "Picking Mulberries and Forcing a Title" were organized. "Qin Qiong's Merit" was filmed into a movie in 1961. In 2006, the project was included in the second batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage representative list.
